RS 502 – SAMBURU-SWEETWATERS-NAKURU
Day 1: This morning, head north to the dramatic semi-arid
scrubland of the Northern Frontier. After lunch, an afternoon game
drive. This reserve, located around the life-giving Uaso Nyiro River,
is home to the rare, beautiful and resident wildlife species like
the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the blue-necked
Somali Ostrich that are rare elsewhere in the country. Thereafter
return to one of the luxurious Samburu lodges, located along the banks
of the Uaso Nyiro River for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Early morning and afternoon game drives give you a
chance to explore some of the world’s most spectacular and exciting
terrain. Meals and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: After breakfast, depart for Sweetwaters
Tented Camp – a luxury tented camp
set in a 22,000 acre Rhino Sanctuary on Ol Pejeta
Ranch. It enjoys magnificent views across the plains
to the snow-capped peaks of Mt Kenya and has an abundance
of wildlife. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game
drive and an excellent opportunity to get close to
the endangered black rhino. Sweetwaters also houses
the only Chimpanzee Sanctuary of its kind in Kenya.
Dinner and overnight at the Camp.
Day4: After breakfast, head for Lake Nakuru National Park
situated on the floor of the world’s greatest land rift - the Great
Rift Valley. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park.
This park provides a sanctuary for the endangered black rhino and
the Rothschild's Giraffe. Additionally, the fluctuating shores of
Lake Nakuru host one of the greatest bird spectacles in the world
- millions of flamingoes that turn the shores of the lake pink. Dinner
and overnight at the Lodge.
Day 5: After breakfast, return to Nairobi. |
