Day 1: After breakfast, depart for Namanga. Our Tanzanian representative
will take over from here and drive you to Arusha for lunch. After
lunch drive towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive is
quite a spectacular journey involving getting across the bottom of
the Rift Valley and continuing up the Mbulu Plateau, through the forest
to the crater rim. Arrive at a strategically located lodge, on the
rim of the crater with magnificent views for dinner and overnight
stay.
Day 2: After breakfast, descend 610m into the crater floor,
from a height of 2,286m for game viewing. Ngorongoro was declared
a World Heritage site in 1978 in recognition of its beauty and importance.
The crater has an area of 265 sq. km. All of the big game: lions,
rhino, elephants can be seen here. After enjoying a picnic lunch,
drive towards Serengeti to arrive in time for dinner and overnight
stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Breakfast and depart for a game drive in the Serengeti
National Park. Aside from the annual
animal migration, the park offers a variety of experiences. These
include interesting geological formations known as kopjes, which
play an important role in the ecology of the Long Grass Plains near
the Naabi Hill Gate of the Serengeti. Lunch will be at the lodge.
Afternoon departure for Lake Manyara National Park, arriving in
time for dinner followed by overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4: After breakfast, a game drive in the National Park.
Although the park is famed for tree climbing lions, other animals
such as elephants, hippo and plains game are abundant. Other sights
include hot water springs and hippo pools. Open grasslands with
rocky outcrops, forests and swamps as the lake itself form an interesting
and scenic terrain for viewing the animals. Lake Manyara is also
home to thousands of flamingoes which form a shimmering pink border
on the lake. Drive towards Arusha for lunch followed by a transfer
to Namanga and return to Nairobi.
